I dub a group of chickadees to be called a "titillation", as in:

"So, you watched a titillation of chickadees outside your window."

Not a very interesting example, to be sure, but I believe the chickadees provided titillation enough.

The transition is still going on, and I'm hoping it is not too painful as well. I just wrote again for the first time today, and hope to continue getting into a positive rut tomorrow.

Distraction achieved!

What can I say. I looked up your blog. So, its pretty obvious that I'm going through withdrawal. I hope your transition back to the real world hasn't been too painful.
I've been watching a group of chickadees chittering and chattering in a cherry tree outside my window. It sounds like pipsqueak bitching. I think you should invent a name for a group of chickadees, if you're in need of some distraction.

If only you had asked me last week, I could have told you that your only friend is a mullein. Its in the figwort family. They are biennial or perennial plants, rarely annuals or subshrubs, growing to 0.5–3 m tall. The plants first form a dense rosette of leaves at ground level, subsequently sending up a tall flowering stem. Biennial plants form the rosette the first year and the stem the following season. The leaves are spirally arranged, often densely hairy, though glabrous (hairless) in some species. The flowers have five symmetrical petals; petal colours in different species include yellow (most common), orange, red-brown, purple, blue, or white. The fruit is a capsule containing numerous minute seeds.

Oh man, I'm within the 24 hours, aren't I? You're sleeping when you should be writing something.

In penance, you owe me a story involving a cat, mystical or mysterious signs, a truck full of pomegranates, and a cameo from a d-list celebrity.

McDonald's fries are far superior in every way. If it weren't for the fries (and the Sausage Egg and Cheese McGriddle), I don't believe I'd every stop at McDonalds again. Gustatorially speaking, you probably haven't missed out that much. Ken Watson worked at Wendy's in high school, and I believe that's the first time I really ate at Wendy's, and I found it to be to my liking, especially the fact that Wendy's always had bacon (on their sandwiches) as one of the menu options. To this day, a stop at Wendy's involves the least post-meal regret of the fast food options. But Wendy's is in trouble because McDonalds has pretty much cornered the market on fast food, and in between McDonalds and the rise of "gourmet" burger places like Five Guys and In-N-Out and Steak and Shake, Wendy's doesn't have a lot to distinguish itself.

Anyway, these training videos seem to me to be a natural outgrowth of the time period where Wendy's commercials were like this: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DWAKtYGJZSM and this: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3MwB5PZciVA&feature=related and this: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=y_oem9BqUTI&feature=related and this: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ug75diEyiA0&feature=related and this: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=L0IRXl985gI&feature=related

All of that does make me have a soft spot for Wendy's, though I admit to never having had one before. I don't know why, but I never wanted to eat there as a kid and that prejudice has stayed with me. Though I never really knew about their square burgers and the thought behind them, I suppose because I'm a contained-by-the-bun kind of guy. But now you make me want to hop the few blocks over to the local Wendy's and grab a burger just so I can see what I've been missing all these years. (Though it wasn't the fries. The chunky fries are why I stayed away, if memory serves.)
